2005: CHALLABOROUGH

The first dive of the trip was off Burgh Island, just out of Challaborough bay. The thing I remember most is the amount of spider crabs - they were everywhere! Oh, and I must take this opportunity to thank Paul for making a mercy dash to take me back to the shore after I’d been seasick!

After the kerfuffle getting the boats back to shore, it was decided it was too rough to try and launch them again, so we headed off to Fort Bovisand and had a fabulous shallow dive. The colours were spectacular, and that was just the seaweed!

Challaborough Bay

The best was saved for last as we experienced The Persier for the first time! At a depth of 28 metres it is a serious dive. The amount of fish was amazing, and there were pink fan corals sprouting up all over the wreck. And we stunned ourselves with our navigational skills as we managed to find Tornado’s shot line at the end!

Can’t wait to go again - thanks Paul!
